But for the blood itself, hematologists study blood circulatory system at large (the diseases of bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen). Diagnostics of hemic diseases is performed with the use of specific advanced laboratory techniques including peripheral blood and bone marrow CD-typing, immunohistochemistry, and diagnosing of monoclonal gammapathy at preclinical level (with no apparent signs of a disease) using serum and urine electroimmunofixation (EIF) method as well as determination of B2- microglobulin and light chains (kappa and lambda).
