Hematology

Hematologist is specialized in all the diseases of hemic system. Due to the fact that blood supplies organs with useful nutrient substances and protects organism from infections, its diseases may be highly dangerous. But for the blood itself, hematologists study blood circulatory system at large (the diseases of bone marrow, lymph nodes, spleen). Hematologist conducts advisory reception of patients at the age of 16 and above.

Hematological diseases nowadays comprise 8-10% of the total number of diseases and are the main reason of associated mortality. Sometimes, the diseases of hemic system proceed for a long period without any specific clinical manifestations being diagnosed at the advanced stages of progression, when the patient can receive only symptomatic treatment. At RADC, we perform a wide range of diagnostic procedures not only to determine the presence of hemic diseases but reveal all the necessary information as well to perform rigorous treatment selection and access disease forecast.

RADC’s Hematology Service means:
•Diagnostics of both hemic diseases (severe and chronic leucosis, lymphoid tumours, lymphatic sarcomas, lymphogranulomatosis) and all the variety anemias (inborn and acquired).
•Treatment-and-consultation assistance for patients with hemostasis pathology associated with early detection of thrombogenic risk factor, the implementation of controlled prophylaxis and specific therapy of trombophilia and its complications.
•All the types of puncture diagnostics (sterna puncture of bone marrow, the puncture of posterior iliac bone tuber, lymph node puncture).

Diagnostics of hemic diseases is performed with the use of specific advanced laboratory techniques including peripheral blood and bone marrow CD-typing, immunohistochemistry, and diagnosing of monoclonal gammapathy at preclinical level (with no apparent signs of a disease) using serum and urine electroimmunofixation (EIF) method as well as determination of B2- microglobulin and light chains (kappa and lambda).

At the present time, it is apparent that hematology represents one of the most rapidly developing medical professions. The clinical practice undergoes the adoption of new high-tech and informative methods of diagnostics and treatment. The therapy of hemic system diseases uses complex multicomponent software-based therapeutic methods which make it possible to treat many diseases that previously deemed to be fatal.
